Stalking the High Net Worth Donor

In this article, Nonprofit Quarterly editor Ruth McCambridge summarizes the 2016 US Trust Report on High Net Worth Philanthropy, which brings together new data about the wealthiest donors in the US and how they give to nonprofits. The study is based on a survey of 1,435 households with net assets of $1 million or more and annual incomes of $200,000 or more. Sample finding: these donors give the most to charities that address basic human needs (food, housing, etc.), followed by religious, health, youth and family services, and K-12 education.
