As organizations strive to allocate and monitor resources in order to increase effectiveness and impact, many are turning to the use of dashboards and performance metrics as an inexpensive and simple way to facilitate meaningful decision making and track progress towards organizational goals. Often the most challenging aspect of developing a dashboard is choosing a set of performance indicators relevant for an organization. CompassPoint is collecting sample indicators and has compiled them into this library. While this list is not comprehensive, nor is each indicator right for all organizations, it can provide useful examples of what other organizations are using.
